Battery Storage at Glastonbury

MSP Technologies: 1MW/3MWh BESS for Arcadia Stage

Multi Source Power (MSP) Technologies have this year provided a battery energy storage solution (BESS) for the organisers at Glastonbury which saw them help to power numerous parts of the festival including the Arcadia stage.

The 1MW/3MWh BESS covered the load during the three days of performances as well as the five pre-show days with the help of HVO biofuels and a solar array for charging.

Carbon reductions from using the BESS are massive but another huge benefit is the quietness on site, outside of show hours.

Oakwood Energy and MSP

Oakwood Energy is currently working with MSP on a project near Congleton which will see us take part of a large poultry farm ‘off-grid’ using a combination of solar PV, BESS and a back up generator.

Looking to expand their business and with costs in the millions to get a grid connection for a new free range chicken shed, Oakwood Energy were asked to step in and provide a solution.

In collaboration with MSP we have designed a system that will reduce day to day energy costs and carbon emissions and at a fraction of the cost of getting a grid connection. The system is due to be installed in Oct so watch his space for updates….
